Year in Review 2021
Back in 2008, district leaders within The Alliance announced a formal vision to work together to create and sustain a national church multiplication movement across Canada. Since then, we’ve worked to develop creative structures and pathways that allow new people to step into the new things God is doing, starting effective and healthy new churches in new places across Canada.
Today, you can find 69 active New Ventures, 8 Apprentices and 5 Discerning Communities continuing to step out in faith across the country.
As part of affirming and partnering in these new works, 44 local Alliance churches, 4 other local churches, and 2 associations faithfully give of money, time, and resources toward these New Ventures. Jesus continues to build His Church!
In 2021…
We supported the launch of 8 New Ventures across Canada with supportive partnerships, clear leadership, and thoughtful vision. (Want to check out a couple of encouraging stories from the year? Did you catch some of the launch of PAC Dauphin? Maybe you want to learn more about Ambrose House in Montreal?)
4 New Apprentices were set up with the resources and pathways they needed to pursue clarity in their vocation and ministry lives.
11 local churches and 2 associations partnered to see these new things happen. (Are you a local church leader with a desire to partner in something new? You can always get in touch with us.)
2 New Ventures became official churches, organized and rooted in their communities to love and serve for the long term.
5 Discerning Communities⏤groups of people who intentionally gather to regularly listen and pray for signs of Jesus at work in new places⏤emerged over the course of the year. (Read more about this new structure on our Discerning Communities page.)
Over 40 people with a heart for the church in Canada gathered on-site and online for the Pursue Clarity Retreat, to listen and discern the voice of Jesus together.
Our team of Implementers across the country grew to include First Nations, Filipino, and Arabic representatives.
Stepping out in faith to listen to the voice of Jesus and create healthy expressions of church is a huge endeavour and we are thankful for all who partner to make this happen.
