Summer Invitation Series: Widen your welcome
For this week’s summer invitation, we’re inviting you to widen your welcome.
In recent times, we’ve all been reminded of the value and importance of diversifying our perspectives. Put simply, if we only listen to and interact with people who look and think like us, we'll likely miss out on the fullness God’s kingdom.
As we continue to grapple with what it means to be people who offer the hospitality of Jesus, what might it look like to widen our welcome to people with physical disabilities?
Listen: Cynthia Tam on Disabilities & Forming Community through the Canadian Asian Missional Podcast. Listen in as Cynthia unpacks stigmas, shares some personal stories and offers insight to a new imagination for communities.
Question to consider: What is my role in offering hospitality to those on the margins?
Welcome to summer invitations. As we disengage from formal ministry commitments, summer can be a time to build a reading list, seek new voices, and be refreshed. Especially as pandemic restrictions lift, our heart is to help you get out there and rediscover Canada as we continue in our mission of hopeful engagement with the church and our Canadian context. Each week we will be sharing a simple summer invitation to help you see Canada in a fresh way.
