WHY DID YOU STAY: A STORY FROM the roxy centre

The Roxy Centre is used as a multifunctional and people-oriented space providing connection to people living in Acton, Ontario. The centre is used for a variety of activities serving the community, like “Coffee Hour”, weekly Alpha courses, co-working table rentals and volunteer opportunities for high school students. Recently, this New Venture’s leaders, Paul and Payge Lucas, shared how they have been seeing God move through this initiative. One story in particular stood out. Payge explains:

“…when meeting with one of the participants of Coffee hour, who is a part of a group home, we got on the topic of how she found The Roxy.

She said ‘I just walked in one day, and never left!’ Out of curiosity, I asked, ‘Why did you stay?’

And out of her mouth came exactly what I needed to hear from the Lord. She said, ‘Because I don’t have to hide anymore.’

Paul and Payge ask for prayer:

  • For spiritual protection for the leaders of the Roxy.

  • That renovations in the centre go well.

  • For God to continually refine the vision and goals of the Roxy Centre.

  • For continued financial support.
